Police: Man rapes woman in Gaithersburg field, flees

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Police have released a sketch composite of a man accused of meeting a woman at a bar, forcing her to a field nearby, and then sexually assaulting her.

The crime occurred on July 26 around 2:30 a.m., when the victim left Quincy’s Bar and Grille on Quince Orchard Road with a man she met inside. Once they got outside, she told police the man forced her to a grassy area nearby the Quince Orchard Plaza shopping center.

The victim was able to yank away from the suspect, but he grabbed her again and took her to the field where he then committed rape.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 20 to 30 years old, around 5’3″ and 200 pounds. He was wearing glasses and had facial hair, as shown in the police sketch.

Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or who may have information about this rape to call the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5050. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to their line that leads to an arrest and/or indictment.
