MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — One of two brothers was sentenced to 20 years in jail today after both plead guilty to robbing Takoma Park taxi drivers at knifepoint two years ago.

Lonzo Holmes Jenkins was sentenced on Friday. He will only serve eight of the 20 years, says the State’s Attorney’s office. His brother, Gregory Maples, will be sentenced in late August.

Prosecutors say that the brothers hailed two cabs in 2015 and told the taxi drivers to take them to take them somewhere in Takoma Park. When they arrived, the brothers apparently attacked the victims, then stole cash and other items from the cabs.
