QUEEN ANNE’S CO., Md. – The National Weather Service have confirmed an EF2 Tornado hit the Island of Kent in Maryland.

Officials say the weather event hit Kent Island on Sunday night. They also say that currently, local and state law enforcement, fire, and emergency services are on the scene to help those affected. They are also surveying the damage throughout the area.

At this time, several roads are closed and open only to local and emergency services.

Thousands of outages have also been reported in the area, according to Delmarva Power.
