DC police make arrest in shooting of toddler

WASHINGTON, D.C. - DC Police Chief, Peter Newsham, announced that an arrest has been made in the July 10th shooting in the 1300 block of I Street, Northeast in which a 1-year-old boy was injured.

Derrick Damon Watson, 39, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

But police are still searching for another suspect and asking for the public's help in identifying a third.

Newsham said police are trying to locate Saheed Aluwatoyin Washington Sulu, 27, of Southeast, DC.

Police are also trying to identify the third individual involved in the shooting. A video of the incident and a closer look at the person of interest can be seen in the video below.

The shooting happened around 9:00 p.m. on July 10, 2017. Police say when officers arrived on the scene, they found a 1-year-old boy suffering form multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
