19-year-old dead after double shooting at Georgetown waterfront

WASHINGTON, D.C. — One man is dead and another in the hospital after a shooting in the 3500 block of Water Street in the neighborhood of Georgetown in Northwest.

Police responded to the scene on reports of a shooting and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim, Kennedy Amaya-Olivares, 19, was pronounced dead on the scene. The second victim is in the hospital.

The shooting occurred around 3 a.m.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
