District releases details on a former councilman’s funeral

WASHINGTON, DC — D.C.’s Council is releasing information on the former Councilman Jim Graham’s funeral services.

“Former Councilmember Jim Graham Farewell” is set for Friday, June 23 at the John A. Wilson Building on 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW and his body will lie-in-state. The program starts at noon and elected officials, dignitaries, and special guests will deliver remarks.

Then on Saturday, the viewing and religious services will take place at the All Souls Unitarian Church, 1500 Harvard Street, NW.  Viewing which is open to the public starts at 10 a.m.,  religious services start at noon followed by refreshments. Bow ties are encouraged for services.

The Council says people can send cards or flowers to Bacon Funeral Home, 3447 14th St NW.

Graham served as the Council’s Ward 1 representative from 1998 to 2015, he died June 11 following complications associated with an intestinal infection. He was 71.
