MONTGOMERY CO., MD –  A 19-year-old has been arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer June 12 in Montgomery County.

Police say a Police Commander was driving her unmarked police vehicle around 4 p.m. on the Intercounty Connector when she noticed a white Ford Crown Victoria with  emergency  lights activated, driving at a high rate of speed and was making unsafe lane changes.  The commander pulled over the driver, Philip Jonathan Ross, from Dickerson Maryland.  During the traffic stop, detectives say Ross handed the commander a metal badge and a “Special Agent” identification.

Ross was arrested and police are working to determine if he had any personal encounters with other drivers while he was impersonating a police officer.

If anyone believes that they may have had an encounter with the impersonator is asked to call the 6th District Investigative Section at 240-773-5770.
