PGPD: Suspect arrested for homicide in Adelphi

PRINCE GEORGE’S, CO – PGPD arrested a suspect for a homicide in Adelphi one week ago. The suspect is 22-year-old Rolando Juarez-Vasquez of the 1300 block of Merrimac Drive in Langley Park. He’s charged with the fatal shooting of 19-year-old William Canales of Fox Street.

On June 1st, at about 6:40 pm, patrol officers were called to the 1800 block of Fox Street for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the victim outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital where he later died.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect and victim got into a dispute over a woman prior to the shooting. The suspect is a member of a gang. The victim was not a gang member.
