Police on the scene of barricade situation in Prince George’s County

CLINTON, Md. – The Prince George’s County Police Department reports that officers are on the scene of a barricade situation in Clinton, Maryland on Tuesday morning.

According to officials, the situation is in the 7700 block of Surratts Road. Police say around 8:00 a.m., officers responded to the area after reports of breaking and entering. Police then saw an adult male suspect fleeing from a house. Then, the police department tweeted around 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday that they were on the scene of a barricaded suspects.

Earlier Tuesday morning, the Prince George’s Fire Department tweeted about a house fire in the same area. The fire was put out and no injuries were reported. Fire officials also tweeted that there was police activity in the area.

At this time, police say that Surratts Road is closed at Hospital Drive due to the barricade incident.

It’s not clear if the house fire and barricade situation are related.
