Bowie student stabbed to death on UMd. campus

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- A student at the University of Maryland is in custody today in connection with a fatal stabbing that happened overnight on campus.

Police were notified of an assault with a knife on Regents Drive near Montgomery Hall around 3 a.m., and found a man on the sidewalk suffering from serious injuries. They tried to keep him stable until paramedics arrived, at which point he was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Police said at a press conference the victim was stabbed in the chest, and that the suspect had been drinking. They also said that the entire incident was captured on video, and the victim was a student at Bowie State University.
