Commuter bus crashes and flips in Maryland

MARYLAND — A commuter bus crashed and overturned Monday morning near Cecil County, Maryland.

Maryland State Police said there were 26 children, three chaperones and a driver on board the bus. Philadelphia school officials said the children on the bus were eighth-graders from Charles W. Henry School and they were heading to D.C. for a field trip and everyone has been accounted.

The charter bus overturned around 9:30 a.m. on I-95 near Cecil County. State Police say the bus landed on its left side after colliding with a blue Honda Civic. Investigators say the so far the investigation shows the car

The spokesperson for MSP says two individuals from the bus were flown to University of Maryland shock trauma in Baltimore and to Christiana Hospital in Delaware. No word on their condition.

Police say they are talking to the driver of the car, they tweeted that charges are being withheld pending the conclusion of the investigation.
