DC crews rescued eight ducklings

WASHINGTON, DC — Several agencies rescued eight ducklings that had fell into a storm drain Monday evening.

The department tweeted photos and videos showing the crews from DC Fire and EMS, Animal Control, DC Water as well as Metropolitan Police Department rescuing the animals.

We’re told the ducklings fell into a storm drain at the intersection of 12 Street and Main Avenue, Southwest around 5:30 p.m. Crews pulled one-by-one until all eight had been pulled to safety. We’re told momma duck was standing-by during the whole rescue.

Once all the ducklings were pulled to safety they waddled to their their mother who led them on a grassy area.
