Police investigate Capitol Heights homicide

CAPITOL HEIGHTS., Md. – Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened late Thursday night.

According to officials, officers responded to the intersection of Zelma Avenue and Central Avenue around 11:00 p.m. for a shooting. When they arrived, they found a woman in the roadway who was suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

After a preliminary investigation, police say they do not believe this to be random incident.
