WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Lena Seikaly and Danielle Wertz celebrated women in jazz at the Smithsonian American Art Museum's free monthly "Take 5!" series featuring local jazz musicians.

Lena Seikaly and Danielle Wertz were on vocals as they paid homage to female jazz icons during Women's History Month. They presented songs inspired by women featured in the exhibition Harlem Heroes—including Ethel Waters, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne, and more.

The other musicians were Leigh Pilzer on tenor sax, Paul Pieper on guitar, Mark G. Meadows on piano, Romeir Mendez on bass, and Ele Rubenstein on drums.
