Police arrest three in connection to gun store theft

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Three men have been arrested in connection to a robbery that happened last week at a gun store in Chantilly.

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms agents and other officers were tipped off to the suspects and  arrested Preston G. Holmes, 23; Matthew D. Jones, 23; and Daniel L. Quarles, 19, over the weekend. All three have been charged today with conspiracy and theft of firearms from a federally licensed firearms dealer.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, in the last 10 days, the suspects participated in three burglaries of federally licensed firearms dealers.

The affidavit explains first burglary happened in March 11 at the 50 West Armory in Chantilly, there detectives say the suspects stole 35-semi-automatic handguns in 45 seconds. Then in March 14, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says the suspects were responsible for the burglaries of A.S.H. Tactical and SSG Tactical in Fredericksburg.




Each suspect faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison if convicted.
