ROCKVILLE, MD - Investigators responded to the scene of a house explosion in Rockville, MD Friday morning.  The blast was so powerful, it leveled the building and the explosion could be heard in communities miles away, authorities said.

A team of State Fire Marshals, Montgomery County Fire Rescue crews, and ATF agents from Baltimore are on site conducting their investigation at the home located off Ashley Drive.


Search and rescue cadaver dogs are being used as officials try to determine the status of the person who lives at the address.

Fire officials describe the scene as catastrophic.  Dozens of other homes in the neighborhood also suffered damage by falling debris caused by the explosion.
