Suspect arrested in District Heights Homicide

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md — Prince George’s County Police arrested 27-year-old Sedrick Stokes in connection with the homicide of 46-year-old Nathan Slye Jr. in District Heights.

According to police, around 12:25 p.m. March 3, they responded to reports of a shooting in the 3000 block of Great Oak Drive. When officers arrived, they found 46-year-old Nathan Slye Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. Slye died shortly after being taken to the hospital.

As of now, detectives believe the motive was robbery and both were acquaintances. Prince George’s Police say Stokes was charges with first and second degree murder. Stokes is being held without bond.
