Virginia man charged in deadly shooting

PRINCE GEORGE’S CO., MD — Officers have arrested a suspect in connection to a deadly shooting that happened earlier this week in Suitland.

Police has charged Charles Romain, of Alexandria, in connection to the deadly shooting of Lafeal Sinclair.

Police found the 29-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds lying in a parking lot on the 3900 block of Suitland Road on March 7. Medics transported Sinclair to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Alexandria Police along with the Alexandria Sheriff’s arrested Romain on March 8. The 24-year-old has been charged with first and second degree murder. He’s in Alexandria awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.


Detectives said the preliminary investigation shows the motive appears to be a drug-related robbery.
