PRINCE GEORGE’S CO., MD —  Detectives are investigating a deadly crash in Landover that killed a 9-week old.

Officers were called around 9:35 p.m. on March 2, for a crash that happened on the 9200 block of Landover Road. The investigation reveals the car carrying the victim was trying to turn onto I-495. As the car was turning, police say, it was struck by a second car.

Immediately medics rushed the baby to the hospital where she died two days later. Her family opted not to release her name. Officers says the baby was in a child safety seat.

The driver of car carrying the baby suffered non-life threatening injuries. The other car had two passengers and the driver. That driver did not want to be taken to a nearby hospital as for the passengers had they had life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information on this collision is asked to call the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422.
