Woman found dead in Capitol Heights house fire

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. -- A woman was found dead after Capitol Heights firefighters extinguished a blaze in a single family home on Crown Street on Sunday morning.

Shortly after 9:00 a.m., a neighbor called 911 to report that the house next door was on fire and they believed someone was still in there. Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire, and then found a dead person toward the rear of the house.

Police have not released the woman's cause of death, which is to be determined by an autopsy. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No other injuries were reported.
