Man breaks into Kalorama home, blindfolds and sexually assaults woman

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Kalorama neighborhood in D.C. is well-known for its powerful residents, currently including former President Obama and his family, as well as First Daughter Ivanka Trump and her family. But on Friday, it was the site of a violent crime.

Police say that around 10:30 p.m. on March 3, a man broke into a woman’s residence on the 2300 block of California Avenue in Northwest. The man blindfolded the woman, bound her hands, and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is being sought for first degree sexual assault. Nothing is known about him except his gender. The victim and police don’t yet know how he got into her house in the first place.
