African American Museum reaches milestone

WASHINGTON, DC —  The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture announced last week that it has received one million visitors.

The milestone was accomplished in less than 5 months. NMAAHC opened its doors on September 24, 2016.

There’s different ways you can score free tickets to the museum.

Walk-up passes are limited and only offered on weekdays.  You can also get tickets online for a later time in the year. According to the Smithsonian you can get passes for June 2017 on March 1st at 9 a.m., you an get up to six advanced timed entry passes.
