Update: Death investigation underway in Upper Marlboro

Prince George’s Co., MD —  Detectives are investigating what led to the death of a 21-year-old in a shopping center’s parking lot in Upper Marlboro.

Police say that on Monday, Feb. 13,  Nathaniel McKinnon of Upper Marlboro, was struck and killed by a car in a parking lot on the 5000 block of Brown Station Road.

So far, the investigation reveals that the driver of car intentionally hit McKinnon. However, officers ay they recovered a gun from McKinnon and detectives say they are looking at the possibility this was an act an act of self-defense.

Detectives are checking with the State’s Attorney’s Office on any potential charges in this case.
