Teen arrested after trying to bring gun into DC high school

WASHINGTON, DC — A teen was arrested Wednesday morning after trying to bring a gun into a high school in Southeast, police said.

Officers responded shortly after 9 a.m. for a report of a gun at Ballou High School on Fourth Street, SE.

Police say they recovered a 22 caliber pistol and ammunition from the teen’s book bag.The teen was placed under arrest for unregistered ammunition and carrying a pistol without license in a gun free zone.
