Attempted armed robbery in Sterling

LOUDOUN, Va - Officials with the Loudoun County Sheriff's office released video of a attempted robbery in Sterling, Va.

Surveillance video shows the suspect entering the Subway restaurant on Oakgrove Road around 9:45 p.m. on Feb. 6 with a firearm.

According to Loudoun County Sheriff, the suspect waved his gun at the employee and jumped the counter demanding money. After a brief encounter with the employee, the suspect left the restaurant empty-handed.

The employee was not injured during the attempted robbery. The suspect is described as a male, wearing a mask, gloves, a plaid shirt and a glossy orange or red brim hat.
