CNN — President Trump’s immigration ban has people donating million of dollars to the American Civil Liberties Union.

The ACLU said it has received more than $24 million dollars over the weekend. That’s about six times as much money it gets in online donations over the course of a year.

The union works to preserve the rights and liberties of individuals.

Many celebrities, including Rosie O’Donnell and Judd Apatow encouraged people to support the group. Other wealthy venture capitalists pledged to match donations.

“The ACLU took Trump to court. Let’s stand with them. Reply with donation receipts from today and I’ll match to $25,000,” venture capitalist Chris Sacca tweeted on Saturday.

The ACLU plans to hire additional staff thanks to the new donations. It is also getting ready for more legal challenges.

The donations came from 356,306 people, many of whom had never supported the group before.
