Fire in Clarksburg destroys home

UPDATE: Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services is now reporting that the person missing after a house fire in Clarksburg, Maryland has been located. They are currently being evaluated by EMS.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Clarksburg, Md. – Montgomery County fire officials say that one person remains unaccounted for after a fire destroyed a home in Clarksburg, Maryland early Monday morning.

Officials say the fire started around 2:15 a.m. on Monday morning in the 26400 block of Haines Road. When firefighters arrived on the scene, there was heavy fire. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services reports that the fire was brought under control, but there was severe damage to the home. Officials also say that one resident remains unaccounted for.

At this time, firefighters remain on the scene, though the fire is under control.
