Police investigate hit and run involving a school bus

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit and run crash that involved a school bus that occurred on Thursday morning. That incident happened on Evergreen Mills Road near Black Branch Parkway.

According to officials, the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. A cement truck, heading south, hit a Loudoun County Public School Bus that was heading north. Police say there were 54 students on the bus at the time. The driver of the cement truck left the scene, and that truck is described as being red and white in color.

Officials say two of the students on the bus are being treated for minor injuries. They also report minor damage was done to the bus. The roadway was closed for around 45 minutes, but it has since reopened.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Police ask that anyone with information about this crash to please contact Sgt. R. Gessner at 703-777-1021.
