Crash in Bowie kills one, car found in pond

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — A man who police say was ‘impaired’ died after he crashed and was found in his vehicle, overturned in a containment pond off the shoulder of the exit ramp to Route 197.

The driver was Ibrahim Sow, 29, of Bowie. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. There were no passengers in his car at the time of the crash, and police believe it was a single-vehicle accident.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to contact the Maryland State Police, College Park Barrack, (301) 345-3101.
