FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Police are investigating a homicide in Burke, which they say appears to be related to a Thursday night homicide in Springfield and doesn’t appear random.

A suspicious death in Springfield was ruled a homicide this morning, hours after the 22-year-old victim was found deceased in his home Thursday night in the 6400 block of Blarney Stone Court.

The victim has been identified as Henok Yohannes. Fairfax County Police don’t yet know his exact cause of death, but he was found with trauma to the upper body.

On Friday morning, FCPD reported they were on the scene of a suspicious death of a young woman in the 6500 block of Cordwood Court, Burke, and that the deaths appeared connected. Later that afternoon, they ruled her death a homicide.

The woman was found by a Burke homeowner lying deceased against a tree on a property that she had no connection to. The homeowner called in the murder. Like Yohannes, she was found with trauma to her upper body.
