Two injured in Aspen Hill shooting

ASPEN HILL, Md. – The Montgomery County Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in Aspen Hill on Wednesday night.

According to officials, the Emergency Call Center received a call around 12:02 a.m. from a male who said he and a woman had been shot while parked in a vehicle in the 3800 block of Palmira Lane. When first repsonders arrived, they found a 22-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman suffering form apparent gunshot wounds. Officials say those injuries were non-life threatening. The victims were transported to a local hospital.

Police say preliminary investigations indicate that the man and woman were seated inside their vehicle when an unknown man approached the car and began talking to the victims. He then shot them while they were sitting in the car. The suspect then fled on foot. Officials say that he is described as being in his late teens or early 20s. He was last seen wearing dark clothing.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
