Detectives arrest suspect in deadly shooting

Prince George’s County, MD — Police have made an arrest in a deadly shooting that happened last week in Temple Hills. Detectives said the suspect is 19-year-old Ernest Deshawn Edwards.

On December 5, police said they were called in to the 3200 block of Curtis Drive for a shooting, when officers arrived they found Michael Corey Roberts, 26, suffering from gunshot wounds. A short time later, detectives say Roberts was pronounced dead at the hospital.

So far, the investigation reveals the shooting stemmed from an attempted robbery. Police said they don’t believe this was a random crime.

Police charged Edwards with first and second degree murder as well as weapons related charges.
