Fire damages two homes in Northwest, DC
UPDATE: Fire officials have reported one firefighter injury from the incident.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Early Monday morning, D.C. Fire and EMS arrived on the scene of a two alarm fire in Northwest, D.C.
According to fire officials, the fire started in the 2400 block of Iowa Avenue in Northwest. The original structure appeared to be under renovation, and the fire caused the building to partially collapse. The fire then extended to a second row home. Both fires are now out.
Fire officials say that eight residents in the adjacent home have been displaced and require help from the Red Cross. Fire fighters were unable to search the original structure due to instability.
