16 year old girl shot, killed in broad daylight in Southeast

WASHINGTON -- Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 1200 block of I Street, Southeast on Friday.

Police say, at approximately 11:42 am, officers responded to the location for a report of the sounds of gunshots.  When first responders got to the scene, they located an adolescent female, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police identified the victim as 16-year-old Breyona McMillian, of Southeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.  Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
