Autistic Fairfax man has been found safe

UPDATE: Fairfax County Police say Omar Alvarenga returned to his home early Sunday morning, and that he is fine and with his family.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — A 29-year-old man with autism was last seen Saturday afternoon, and police say he isn’t familiar with the area he went missing in.

Omar Alvarenda is 5’9″ and 180 lbs. He was last seen in the 7400 block of Little River Turnpike at about 4:30 p.m. He probably wouldn’t respond if addressed by strangers.

When Alvarenda went missing he was dressed in a light colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

If you see him, please call 911 or the Fairfax County Police immediately at 703-691-2131. Patrol officers, K9 and detectives continue to search for him.
