ANNE ARUNDEL, Md. — During a welfare check by police in Glen Burnie on Friday, they discovered an injured man and his deceased girlfriend, who appeared to have both been shot.

Paramedics took Da’von Mullins, 22, to a hospital. He died there on Sunday. His girlfriend, Kayla Yow, 18, was pronounced dead on the scene and taken to the office of the medical examiner in order to determine cause of death.

Police initially treated this as a botched murder-suicide. Mullins was charged with murder and related charges, and was under police guard at an area hospital until his death.
