Person injured in industrial accident in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – According to the Alexandria Police Department, one person was seriously injured in an industrial accident in Alexandria, Virginia.

Police say that the incident occurred in the 700 block of Wythe Street. One person suffered from burns from electricity. They were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

At this time, the 700 block of Wythe Street is closed as police conduct their investigation. Police also report major power outages in the area, including traffic lights. Officials advise drivers to treat all uncontrolled intersections as four way stops.
