Leesburg Executive Airport

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — Around 5 p.m. Sunday night, a Cessna that was taking off from the airport left the runway and then flipped over.

There were four people inside the aircraft, the pilot and three passengers. None were badly injured. One passenger was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, while the others were treated on the scene.

The runway was reopened by 6 p.m. When crews were righting the flipped aircraft, they discovered a fuel leak, which was addressed and cleaned up by Loudoun County Hazmat.

An FAA investigator was on scene last night, assessing the incident.
