Two men shot in Northwest, one killed

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are investigating after they came upon two men suffering from gunshot wounds early this morning in Northwest.

One of the men, Saul Flores-Canales, 36, had died at the scene and remained there while detectives investigated. The other victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The shooting took place around 2:15 a.m. in the 600 block of Kennedy St.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
