Alexandria Fire Department holds annual wreath-laying memorial service

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Alexandria Fire Department held their annual memorial service to honor those who have died in the line of duty or passed away in the last year, held during National Fire Prevention Week.

The ceremony is held at Ivy Hill Cemetery. During the memorial service, the cemetery’s entrance is framed with a display of firefighting apparatus.

The Alexandria Fire Department’s 150th anniversary was last Friday.
