RESTON, Va. — A high school Spanish teacher and a student were arrested Monday for stealing beer from a Virginia gas station.

The pair walked into the gas station near the Trader Joe’s on Baron Cameron Avenue in Reston at about 11 p.m. Monday, according to police.

“Video footage shows a female distracting a cashier while a male who came in the store with her steals a case of beer and then leaves. The female then left the store and picked the man up outside and drove away,” a Fairfax County Police spokesperson said. “Soon after, following investigative leads, officers went to the female suspect’s home and found her, the male, the stolen beer and a variety of illegal narcotics.”

Fabiana Alicia Ciammaichella, 30, and Adelmo Ernesto Arias Guillen, 18, both of Reston, were charged with drug, alcohol, and larceny offenses, according to police.

“Ciammaichella is a Spanish teacher and works at South Lakes High School. Guillen is a sophomore at South Lakes High School,” the police spokesperson said. “Fairfax County Public School officials are aware of this incident and have suspended Ciammaichella.”
