Woman with dementia missing from Silver Spring nursing home

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Police and family are concerned after a 68-year-old woman who suffers from dementia went missing from her residence yesterday evening.

Harriett Bell, 68, was last seen Saturday at 6 p.m., when she left the cafeteria of the care facility where she lives. She is without her cane, which she needs for mobility, and does not have her medication with her. Her physical welfare may be in danger.

Bell does not have access to a car, but is familiar with public transportation.

The facility she went missing from is on Springvale Road. Bell is African-American, 5’1″, weighs approximately 175 lbs and has white hair and brown eyes. She was last seen in a gray jacket.

Anyone with information in reference to the whereabouts of Harriett Bell is asked to call the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
