PG County to step up police presence at schools after shooting threat

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Police are posting extra officers at four schools tomorrow after they were named in a threat made on social media.

An officer with Prince George’s police confirmed that the threat referred specifically to a school shooting.

The schools named were Bladdensburg High School, Charles Flowers High School, William Wirt Middle and Kenmore Middle. Extra police will be posted at all of them on Monday, Oct. 3.

The school system has said on Twitter that they are aware of the threat, and it is being investigated.

Officers will also keep an eye on Prince George’s schools not named in the threat.
