Scam claims to represent DC Fraternal Order of Police

WASHINGTON, D.C. —  The Metropolitan Police Department is issuing a warning about a scam that is asking for donations in behalf of the DC Fraternal Order of Police.

The department has been notified of suspects who have posed as members of the DC FOP and asked for money in the area of Leesburg, Virginia.

Detectives said that if you encounter this, give police a call and do not give the scammers money. According to detectives, DC FOP will never ask anyone for money donations.
