Man shot in standoff in Howard County

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. – The Howard County Police Department has reported that a man has been shot after a standoff with police.

The incident occurred on Monday morning at Tamar Drive, near MD-175 and Foreland Garth. According to officials, the man had a gun and was making threats to kill his family and himself. The suspect has been transported to Shock Trauma, police say.

Tamar Drive between Route 175 and Foreland Garth is closed for a police investigation.
