DC Uber driver is carjacked

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A driver for Uber was carjacked early Sunday morning when he stopped to pick up a customer and, after getting out to help with luggage, was approached from behind by three masked men demanding money.

The Uber driver ran to the nearest house, and the masked men entered his vehicle and drove off with it. They were last seen fleeing the scene.

This crime took place in the 300 block of 9th Street, Northeast.

DC Police from the 1st District are searching for the three suspects as well as the vehicle. They car is a black 2013 Chevy Suburban with license plate H525778.

Any witnesses, or anyone with knowledge of this carjacking, is urged to call the department at 202-727-9099. Anyone with information who wishes to remain anonymous can text via cell phone to 50411.
