Nine shot in DC, two killed

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Two men are dead after a shooting in Southeast last night that put seven additional victims in the hospital due to gunshot wounds.

Scorpio-Rodney Phillips, 31, and Zoruan Harris, 18, were killed in the shooting, which took place at a public event in the 2600 block of Birney Place.

Among those injured and sent to the hospital, there was one child. None of the other victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who can provide information about this shooting that leads to an arrest and conviction. Those with information can call police at 202-727-9099, and anonymous information can be submitted to the department’s tip line by text messaging 50411.
