DCW’s Weekend Opening Act 9-16-16

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This weekend’s opening act is Big Mama Shakes, who performed at Georgetown venue Gypsy Sally’s on the 9th.

Big Mama Shakes, who describe themselves as a soul rock and Southern Americana rock band, hail from Richmond, Virginia.

They will be performing in Charlottesville on the 25th, and on October 2, 6, and November 3 in Richmond.

The band lists influences like Bruce Springsteen, Muddy Waters, CCR and Van Morrison. More information about them can be found here.

Gypsy Sally’s describes itself as a venue for “serious music lovers who don’t take themselves too seriously”.  They have plenty of seating and a wide selection of beer, wine and liquor.
