FREDERICK, Md. — A detention center inmate in Frederick left work release Wednesday, and instead of going back to jail, went to a bar.

Andrew Willett was found by the Frederick Police Department at Olde Towne Tavern just past midnight and immediately apprehended.

Willett had told another employee at his work release assignment that he would get a ride back to Frederick County Adult Detention Center with someone else. When authorities noticed his absence, a warrant was issued for escape in the second degree.
