Police make arrest thanks to community tips

New Carrollton, MD —  Prince George’s County Police are thanking community members for their tips which helped them make an arrest. Police said that the suspect wanted in connection with the New Carrollton sexual assault was arrested by Metro Transit Police in the Huntington Metro Station this afternoon.

23-year-old Darren Samuel Robinson is in custody in Fairfax county awaiting extradition back to Prince George’s County.

According to Prince George’s County detectives, the suspect broke into the victim’s apartment in the 5400 block of 85th Avenue around 7:00 a.m. on September 11. Once inside the apartment, detectives said, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim and stole several items from her home before running out.
